An epic open-world game maker: islands, a main story and hours of play

A single city is not big enough for your idea? Choose the “Epic” size: 2 to 3 islands, each with its own city, a main story that leads from island to island, side jobs and 40 to 80 missions. It plays in your browser, runs about 10 to 25 hours and is designed by Claude from a short description.

You see the price before anything is built. If a build fails technically, the credits reserved for it are credited back.

The city that Epic builds on

Every island in an Epic project is a city like this one, with its own districts, jobs and characters.

What “epic” means in numbers

Our normal “World” size gives you one open city. “Epic” stretches the same engine across an archipelago. The size is measured in places, missions and hours, not in graphics:

World versus Epic

Placesone city, 2 to 8 districts2 to 3 islands, each a city with 2 to 8 districts
Missions10 to 3040 to 80, with a main story
Play time2 to 6 hours10 to 25 hours

How the islands fit together

You start on one island. A gate mission opens the next, and you travel between islands by ferry or bridge at a terminal. Your money, your vehicle and the time of day travel with you, while missions and collectibles are remembered per island, so you can come back and finish a place you left half done.

  • A main story across islands: Claude plans the whole archipelago first, then writes each island’s main chain of missions and its side jobs.
  • Up to 24 characters and 14 vehicles: mission givers with their own roles and lines, from scooters and taxis to boats.
  • Collectibles on every island: reasons to go off the road and look around.
  • Day and night, weather and radio as in a single World city.

Big, but never violent

Epic projects are as non-violent as World projects. Missions are about driving, delivering, racing, finding, photographing and escaping. There are no weapons and no violence against people or animals, and cities and companies are always invented. That keeps the content suitable for players from 12 years, and creators must be 16 or older.

Price, plan and limits

An Epic project costs 5,000 credits before extras, and you see the total before the build starts. That is about two months of Studio credits (2,500 per month) or one large credit pack (5,000 credits for €169). Epic needs the Studio plan, and every account can start at most 2 Epic projects a month. They count towards the 5 world projects a month. For a smaller first step, try a single city: the open-world game maker.

Ideas for an archipelago

  • three islands of a spice trade: a fishing port, a market town and a lighthouse cliff
  • a retro-futurist chain of islands where each island is a different decade
  • a winter archipelago with ferries, snow passes and a mystery about a missing postal boat
  • a team scavenger hunt where each island belongs to one department of your company
  • a holiday-gift game: a courier story through the islands where your family lives

Your epic open world in five steps

  1. Choose “Open World 3D”

It sits among the world projects and needs the Studio plan.

  2. Pick “Epic” as the size

This unlocks islands and the main story. “World” stays one city.

  3. Choose a style and extras

Neon suits night harbors, Pastel suits summer islands. Add sound, a gamepad option or save games for long sessions.

  4. Describe the archipelago

Name the mood of each island and the kind of story you want to tell. Two or three sentences are plenty.

  5. Build, then explore

The build takes about 8–12 min. Afterwards you drive the first island and unlock the next one with the gate mission.

FAQ

How long does an epic open-world game take to play?

The design target is 10 to 25 hours, depending on how many side jobs and collectibles you chase.

Can I make a huge open-world game with AI?

Yes, within the limits described here: 2 to 3 islands, 40 to 80 missions, low-poly 3D in the browser and no violence. It comes from the Studio plan, up to 2 Epic projects a month.

Are there weapons or fights in Epic projects?

No. Missions are about driving, delivering, racing, finding and escaping, and violence against people or animals is ruled out.

Can I copy a famous open-world game?

No. Names, brands, characters and places from other games stay out. Describe what you enjoy about the genre and we build your own archipelago.

What do I need to play it?

A current browser with WebGL on a computer, tablet or phone. Very old devices may stutter. You can play with keyboard, touch or gamepad.
