One game, many languages: playing.company translates finished games with AI – at build time or afterwards

The main language plus up to 10 more from 20 available languages; players switch language right inside the game.

– playing.company takes games into more languages: at build time, up to 10 extra languages can be added on top of the main language, and afterwards in the “Expand & optimise” area. Anthropic’s Claude translates title, text, questions and scenes; players switch language inside the game itself. The feature is part of the planned beta, which is due to start in German-speaking countries on December 8, 2026.

Here is how it works: the game is built in its main language and every further language is translated from it – title, game text, quiz questions and answers, scenes, missions. 20 languages are available, including Arabic with right-to-left writing, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (simplified) and Hindi. The game shows a language switch; translations are not produced while playing but are ready in advance.

Obvious uses are a birthday game for relatives in another country, a quiz for an international team, a learning game for language classes, or a creator’s game that is meant to reach audiences in several markets. The HTML5 export (from the Creator plan) also carries all translations and the language switch.

The pricing logic, roughly: each extra language costs between 10 credits (Mini) and 300 credits (Epic), depending on the size of the game; from 4 extra languages there is a 20 percent discount on the sum. Extra languages are available from the Starter plan, up to 10 per game. The total price in credits is shown before you confirm; if something fails, the credits are returned.

Honesty matters here: translations are produced by AI and can contain mistakes. Anyone sharing a game in a language they do not speak themselves should have a native speaker read it first. Every game stays visibly labelled as AI-generated (EU AI Act, Article 50).

[Zitat Markus – zur Freigabe]

Suggested: “A game should arrive where the people it is made for are – even if they speak another language. That takes one click inside the game and a clear price beforehand.”

— Markus, founder of playing.company
